Vodafone to launch Nexus One in April

Vodafone will launch Google’s Nexus One handset in April, according to an update on the operator’s website. In March, the network posted the handset, made by HTC, on its website, with a ‘coming soon’ tag.

The Nexus One operates on a 1Ghz Snapdragon processor and will operate on Android 2.1, the newest version of the operating system. Vodafone has also announced an April launch of the HTC Legend and HTC Desire and indicated a spring launch for the Sony Ericsson X10.

Vodafone has an exclusive deal on the HTC Legend. The device will come pre-loaded with a range of Vodafone 360 services, including Vodafone Music and MyWeb, as well as full access to the Android Market for apps. The Legend comes with a 3.2-inch, AMOLED HVGA display and a five-megapixel camera and a new optical joystick function.

The HTC Desire has a 3.7-inch AMOLED WVGA display and access to social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter and Flickr on HTC’s Friend Stream. The device is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and comes with full Google application app store integration.
